His experience spans multiple educational leadership roles—Assistant Principal, Director of Athletics, and Headmaster—providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the connection between academics, leadership, and athletics.

Before moving into administration, he taught mathematics and science at every level—elementary, middle, and secondary—cultivating a teaching philosophy rooted in rigor, empathy, and transformative growth.

Dr. Devin L. DeLaughter is an Assistant Professor at Belmont University’s College of Education, a dedicated educational leader, and lifelong athlete. His work bridges scholarship, athletic excellence, and advocacy for student-athletes exploring their rights and opportunities through Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

As a scholar, Dr. DeLaughter examines leadership models and equity in education. As a leader, he has served as a trusted voice across K–12 and higher education. And as an athlete, he understands discipline, perseverance, and the value of teamwork.

Professional Biography:
Dr. Devin L. DeLaughter serves as an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Belmont University.

He earned a B.S. in Mathematics from The University of the South (Sewanee), a Master’s in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) from Covenant College, and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Dallas Baptist University.
